- Jobs, Education & Opportunities Board -

Have you ever gone to a networking event, but didn’t know the WHERE and the WHO to chat with? Maybe you were looking for a job, or even investment opportunities, but just didn’t know who in the room you NEEDED to chat with?

We’re happy to introduce the Linkedin Live Raleigh “Jobs, Education & Opportunities” Board. Interested participants will have the opportunity to write down WHAT they have to offer, and pin it on an actual bulletin board along with their business card — for all of our attendees to review.

Make-A-Wish Eastern North CarolinaA suggested $5 donation collected at the door, will benefit the Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina, a nonprofit organization that has been granting children’s wishes since 1980.

Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina has one purpose — to grant wishes to children between the ages from of 2 1/2 and 18 with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The benefits of wish fulfillment are many and varied. Though it is difficult to measure the effect a wish has on a child, we believe that while doctors provide the medicine, Make-A- Wish provides the magic!

Make-A-Wish® granted the first wish in 1980 to Chris, a 7-year-old boy living in Phoenix, AZ battling leukemia. He spent a day in the life of a highway patrolman. Chris dreamed of a career in law enforcement. This wish inspired the creation of an organization that now serves all 50 states – granting a wish every 40 minutes.

The Eastern NC Chapter’s first wish was granted in 1986 to an 8-year-old boy named Benny. Benny’s one wish was to meet his favorite wrestlers during a special show in his hometown of Raleigh. Benny did not let his struggle with leukemia hinder his love of wrestling – and neither did Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. Since 1986, our chapter has granted nearly 2,500 wishes throughout the 49 counties we serve in Eastern North Carolina.

If you would like additional information about how to share in the power of a wish by volunteering or making a donation, call 1-800-432-WISH or visit our website at www.EastNC.Wish.org
